Good podcast most of the time. Interesting to hear Annabel Crabb talk about her schooling in the latest episode. She went to Wilderness, which is one of the most expensive, old money, private girls’ schools in Adelaide. Maybe she meant her primary schooling because her secondary school was top tier elite in the extreme and not many market gardeners there.
The analysis rarely gets beyond personality politics and surface level narratives. Too often, issues are “both sided” as though competing arguments carry equal weight simply because they’re attached to opposing parties. It makes comfortable, conventional commentary, but not insightful analysis on the issues. The ABC makes sure some issues are never mentioned. Most of the work of these journalists won’t last the political cycle - you can safely ignore it without impact.
This podcast is so variable, sometimes clear and considered and other times just trash.
The Phil Coorey episode was just weird, he was so one sided and was fully supported by PK, when Fran tried to push back she was silenced by PK. This is not journalism it is parroting the Murdock media/ liberal party talking points. The budget is interesting because it shows a real difference between the major parties but this has not been discussed. I could have a better discussion with my mates at the pub
PK : “ I feel like I am in a Karl Marx book” . Finally the truth PK about this Labor government. Thank you !!
If you enjoy a maniac, egotistic Karvelas taking over everyone and getting giddy with the Machiavellian aspects of politics - this is your show. I personally think PK is punishment.
