I found that this story unnecessarily denigrated public health staff from state run clinics eg WACHS.

It’s very unlikely that staff at WACHS clinics would not be seeking to increase diphtheria awareness.

  • The Guardian…

Do you not cringe when you go home at your refusal to mention immigration, and demand issues, in relation to housing affordability in Australia? The highest rate of immigration and population growth for decades, in the west, and apparently none of a panel of journalists has ever looked at the data or the impacts on incumbents, let alone the class impacts. You come across as morons. You premise your silence on the notion that you’d be pushing fascism but in fact your censorship is contributing to... more

Excellent interview by Noor. I feel for *Sara but disappointed that her dad ‘just wants to be left in peace to sit down and watch a movie or a tik tok’, rather than wanting to make a contribution to Australian society.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Telstra outage fallout
Q: What are the immediate steps or fixes being pursued to prevent a recurrence, and how might this change how businesses prepare for outages?
The discussion highlights the need for backup connectivity options (fixed lines, alternate networks) and ongoing improvements in how telcos, regulators, and businesses coordinate to maintain essential services during crises.
The Telstra outage fallout
Q: But can you tell us why this happened? What went wrong?
Josh Taylor explains that Telstra identified a software fault affecting the GPS time node, which caused widespread network mis-timing and subsequent outages; investigations are ongoing to determine the exact update or change that caused the fault.
Foxtel and wine: aged care residents billed for services they can’t use
Q: What does the law say about charging for services residents can't use?
The law states providers can't charge for services residents can't consent to, can't enjoy, or can't use, and homes should provide a basic standard of care without extra charges; disputes are supposed to be reviewable, with refunds when charges are found inappropriate.
Foxtel and wine: aged care residents billed for services they can’t use
Q: Can you start by telling me about Dorothy?
Dorothy moved into an aged care home in 2018; her contract included a daily fee for services like Foxtel and outings, but she was in advanced dementia and couldn't use those services. The family challenged the charges, and after a lengthy process, Dorothy's family were reimbursed more than $26,000 in 2021 and an additional $10,000 later.
Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison: Paul Kelly on the Liberals’ identity crisis
Q: How did Morrison differ from his predecessors and how did that shape his tenure?
Morrison was portrayed as a pragmatic, policy-focused leader whose approach to crisis management, identity politics, and public communication created a distinct legacy that was heavily scrutinized during and after the COVID period.
