  • Food for thought!

This is something that just popped into my head while listening to this podcast. It is stimulating food for thought. Looking forward to more insight as to global developments evolve in unpredictable ways.

    TACO, NACHO , now ‘PADDY’

It’s a PADDY! Pump And Dump; Damm Ya(all)!

This only works if the market remains buoyant. Often overlooked is the notion that a stock market boom effectively prints more money a.k.a. unrealised capital gains.

  • Not the same

The reporting feels more alarmist, conservative and click-baity than it ever used to be.

  • One in a generation budget

What a load of rubbish and biased perspective. Asserting that all Australians who have family trusts are multimillionaires is a blatant lie. The truth is that Labour has broken an election promise and is looking to fix an issue that is linked to government inefficiencies, nanny state and unreasonable burden on people and business. Pure and simple money grab. Lost my vote forever.

  • Needs a broader view

Stop providing a platform for racism. Recent guest Alan Kohler should stay in his lane, talk about economics not spout Islamophobia. It would be great if the ABC could provide quotes from Iranian, Lebanese and Palestinian leadership groups. Considering the diversity of the population in Australia including Arab Australians. I find that this is quite racist having such a one dimensional view of western and Isreali leaderships and continues a narrative that Arabs are the combined evil. When clear... more

When clearly there is evil in leadership across the western nations also. Disappointing Australian reporting. It’s almost like the ABC is just a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is the era of surging house prices over?
Q: Michael, right now, the question is being asked, are we in the biggest property price correction in decades?
Yes, the market has seen significant declines in Sydney and Melbourne, with factors including recent rate rises and budget changes contributing to a downturn, though the extent and duration remain debated among economists.
Who will invest in Elon Musk’s SpaceX vision?
Q: Do you believe that Elon Musk can establish a colony on Mars of a million people or launch data centers into space?
Yes, it's a bold, long-term possibility that hinges on massive capital, political will, and the ability to scale infrastructure and governance across planetary systems; there are significant technical and governance hurdles, but the prospect reads as a strategic narrative that could attract both risk-tolerant investors and policymakers.
Who’s policing the NSW police?
Q: Why is body-worn camera use a point of contention in these investigations?
Despite calls for compulsory body-worn video, NSW police have not made it mandatory, leading to concerns about transparency and accountability when evidence is muted or incomplete.
Who’s policing the NSW police?
Q: What has the New South Wales Police Force had to say about your report?
They acknowledged some misconduct in specific cases and noted officers were subject to managerial action, but they declined to specify the exact nature of that action.
Why Trump keeps asking 'Vance or Rubio?'
Q: What do you reckon?
Geoff suggested that Vance remains the likeliest successor at this point because he holds the prince-like position as Trump's favored running mate, while Rubio's broader appeal and independence could complicate a straightforward ticket.
