  • Worst audio producer ever

Impressively bad audio production, just here for Phil’s show, temporarily, thankfully. Compression not used right or at all. Lows are un-hearable, the highs blow your ears off. Constantly fluctuating audio in general, and the de-Esser not used at all. The sam Purcell segment was so hissy on the s and the t’s. It’s a bold business move to let this chucklehead continue producing. Seen better tafe students do basic audio.

  • Boring drive show

It would be nice if the drive segment would concentrate on car reviews & the latest releases other than almost an entire show taken up with trivial pothole and road issues. I wasted an hour of my life last night listening to dribble.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

"The Squeeze Box to Center Stage" - Joey Fimmano’s Nine-Year Musical Odyssey
Q: You've mentioned balancing the high drama with lighter, more energetic moments. How do you decide which songs to include to keep the audience moving without losing the show's emotional core?
Joey talks about curating a set of hits that span rock, pop, opera, and disco, while weaving in stories and performance choices that reflect the group's journey and keep the show engaging throughout.
"The Squeeze Box to Center Stage" - Joey Fimmano’s Nine-Year Musical Odyssey
Q: The big pipe organ sound, how do you do that? Do you actually use a pipe organ or simulate it?
Joey explains that technology now allows a keyboard-based, highly realistic pipe organ sound, used both on track and with live keyboard emulation to achieve the trademark effect.
"The Squeeze Box to Center Stage" - Joey Fimmano’s Nine-Year Musical Odyssey
Q: Young Talent Time is literally a lifetime ago, but that's where we first saw you. How did those early days shape your career and your approach to Music of the Night?
Joey describes how those early performances built his versatility and confidence, laying a foundation for his career in touring, theatre, and his emphasis on storytelling through music.
"The Stranger in the Room" - Navigating the Volatile World of Behavioral Dementia
Q: Can you explain how this dementia is different from Alzheimer's?
Alzheimer's primarily affects memory and is located towards the back of the brain, while this dementia affects behavior and is located at the front of the brain; memory is largely preserved, and changes in behavior and personality are the hallmark symptoms.
Jacaranda Financial Planning - 28 April 2026
Q: Is there an opportunity to use the bring-forward concession if your balance is under a certain amount, and how does the work test affect over-67 contributors?
The panel explains that under certain balances (e.g., under $300,000) exemptions may apply allowing the $30,000 concessional cap to be contributed with the work test exemptions; otherwise the work test (40 hours in 30 days) generally applies, and exceptions exist for recent work history.
