Often porn and other self-serving habits and choices in marriage are symptomatic of a spouse who has either a personality disorder (Narcissistic is often present) or underlying emotional dysfunction that she/he tries to soothe with poorly chosen coping mechanisms (depressed, anxiety, etc. soothed with near any feeling of “high” be it sexual, drugs, shopping out of control, food addiction). As a counselor I really appreciate this podcast series and the tone of gently challenging ourselves and others to be more open and authentic with dealing with pornography. I want more podcasts!

Jim Daly appears to think that every problem in every marriage is the man’s fault. It’s unfortunate that the program has devolved into the Focus on all the Issues Men Create in Relationships program rather then the truly balanced and helpful program it was under Dr. Dobson’s guidance. If Dr. Daly would not interject his thoughts on men being to blame in almost every broadcast, the information being put out would be much more palatable as it is otherwise excellent.
