  • Great information!

So important to have conversations with your family and loved ones while everyone is still healthy. As we age and our health declines, discussions about future care can become much more difficult. When you are alert and able to clearly communicate, it is much easier for your loved ones to honor your wishes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S10 E230 - Grief Has No Timeline
Q: What are the six myths of grieving and how do they affect people today?
The six myths are don't feel sad, replace the loss, grieve alone, be strong, keep busy, and time heals all wounds; these beliefs lead to suppression and ineffective coping, whereas the discussion emphasizes acknowledging feelings, talking about grief, and taking deliberate steps toward healing.
S10 E227 - Stories Matter More Than You Think
Q: What is the value of sharing these stories with future generations?
Sharing stories provides healing for the storyteller and guides descendants, helping them understand family dynamics, learn from past challenges, and see how faith and perseverance shaped the family's trajectory.
S10 E227 - Stories Matter More Than You Think
Q: What kinds of memories do people most want to preserve, and how do you approach sensitive topics like debt or addiction?
People want to capture love and affection as well as hard truths; we ask guided questions but also let the Holy Spirit lead, creating a conversation rather than a rigid interview, and we handle sensitive topics with patience and transparency.
S10 E227 - Stories Matter More Than You Think
Q: How did the Legacy Project begin and what sparked the idea to move from audio recordings to video and a keepsake book?
It grew out of a publishing project where a client's life story was being written; recording sessions revealed how powerful a video could be for the family, leading to a documented project that combines documentary-style video with a keepsake book.
S10 E223 - You Are What You Eat
Q: Can you give some concrete examples of how to boost fiber intake in a simple way?
Add flaxseeds or chia seeds to smoothies, include leafy greens like kale and spinach, and use fiber-rich foods like chickpeas and lentils in salads or blended into smoothies to reach 15-20 grams of fiber per day.

What is This Podcast about and what kind of topics does it cover?

This show centers on aging with a dual focus: practical, actionable guidance for seniors and families (caregiving,健康, finances, aging in place) paired with faith-led perspectives that frame aging as a meaningful journey. Episodes mix practical how-tos—nutrition, mobility, housing options, and planning for long-term care—with spiritual encouragement, community support, and stories of resilience. A standout pattern is leveraging experts (nutritionists, financial planners, clinicians) alongside faith leaders to address both the physical and emotional dimensions of aging, often tying topics to caregiving, family conversations, and service to others.
