  • Sadly, not a good guest after a run of great episodes. Rambling answers, tone deaf explanations (grew up in Brazil where points are only for the rich, also says $3500 rent is a free night,v like that's a normal expense), says everybody should just do mattress runs for Hyatt status even if they barely travel, etc. Absolutely someone I would not recommend to questioning people.

  • Unprepared

Janelle’s last episode was great she vouched for Delta status and it was an appreciated episode. Unfortunately this recent December 24th episode with Janelle was a little annoying. She was unprepared. Had very few specifics regarding compensation amounts etc . For example the host asked how much compensation if you’re involuntarily bumped and she didn’t know the answer. I even know the answer to that question. There were a few of these examples. Very unprepared

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Travel Insurance Secrets: What Your Card Actually Covers with Lisa from Gyoza Flights | Ep 305
Q: Are there risks to double-dipping or over-insuring a trip?
Double-dipping is generally legally problematic; you should not seek double coverage for the same financial impact, and instead coordinate benefits so total coverage meets but does not exceed the risk.
Travel Insurance Secrets: What Your Card Actually Covers with Lisa from Gyoza Flights | Ep 305
Q: When should you rely on credit card protections vs. independent travel insurance?
Use credit card protections for non-refundable trip components and trip cancellation/interruption risks, and rely on a separate policy for broader coverage like medical, evacuation, and delayed baggage, especially if you want more liberal coverage thresholds.
Travel Insurance Secrets: What Your Card Actually Covers with Lisa from Gyoza Flights | Ep 305
Q: What is the process to file a claim with travel insurance or a credit card?
Claims are typically filed through an online portal or Guide to Benefits, with a case manager guiding you step by step; having all documentation ready speeds the process significantly.
He Has 25 Credit Cards (and these ones are actually worth it) with Nick from The Points Guy | Ep 303
Q: What is your view on co-branded cards and their impact on accessing award space?
Co-branded cards can unlock better award inventories and reduced mileage requirements, but they also require ongoing spending to maintain status and benefits. The right approach is to evaluate how often you fly that airline or stay with that hotel and whether the card's benefits will reliably deliver value in your typical travel pattern.
He Has 25 Credit Cards (and these ones are actually worth it) with Nick from The Points Guy | Ep 303
Q: How do you track and manage multiple premium cards without losing track of credits and expiration dates?
I use monthly calendar reminders tailored to each month's availability of credits, a spreadsheet to track benefits, and a blunt honesty with myself about how many cards I actually want to manage. If you're not willing to stay on top of credits, choose a simpler card with fewer credits.
