  • Love this Podcast

Award Travel 101 podcast has a little bit of everything for everyone hence the name. I love the podcast for this reason. I look forward to when it drops every Friday. I also like when they have different guests to share their own experiences; not everything applies, but it’s always good to know a little more - just in case I need it down the road. Mike and Angie are great, I think their energies complement each other

  • Good info but needs more pep

The show has good information but the host Mike should use some caffeine or something. When Angie is not on it sounds like he’s falling asleep listening to the other host. The most recent Delta episode being case in point.

  • Basic and boring

I like the website and newsletter, but the podcast needs a lot of work. The content is so basic and poorly organized. In fact, it seems like the hosts don’t prepare, just spout off their random personal experience. This is more like listening to a couple of friends chatting than an intentional presentation of professional entertainment/information.

  • Great content - sometimes pretentious

Folks, I love the show. Let’s please try not to talk down to people who are just getting started. This most recent episode is unfortunately a prime example of type of behavior.

How Roame Travel Can Help Finding Flights
Q: What would you recommend that I set up for alerts for a trip to Australia and New Zealand in 2027?
Set alerts for flights from West Coast to Auckland via Alaska for Air New Zealand and keep an eye out for Qantas releasing business and first class via American Airlines.
How Roame Travel Can Help Finding Flights
Q: What do you think of as being the sweet spot for searching and finding space?
The most consistent guaranteed will be 360 days out because that's guaranteed to be open. But for a sweet spot, it's going to be two weeks out, where a lot of award availability gets released.
Member Questions
Q: Will there be a situation that you would open a card with no sign-up bonus?
Yes, for status or if it prevents expiring miles, but generally, one would prefer cards with a sign-up bonus.
Member Questions
Q: Would you rather use 23,000 Ultimate Rewards points or 25,000 Capital One points for the same flight?
The consensus leaned towards using Capital One points, but it ultimately depends on personal card availability and future earning potential.
Love It or Leave It
Q: Which Hyatt card do you prefer, and why?
I prefer the personal Hyatt card for its higher value in obtaining free night awards.
