  • The BEST

This is my favorite podcast I follow several travel and points podcasts and this is the best. They are honest and upfront, willing to accept feedback and alternative opinions and discuss them. Their facebook group is also the best out there they’re patient even with newbies. Their e-mails are really helpful and clearly summarize many different topics. I always look forward to new episodes popping up. Thank you and keep doing what you’re doing!

  • Travel Hacker’s Bible

If you’re into the travel hacking game. Getting extreme value and benefits through credit cards, promotions, and manufacturered spending…. Look no further! These guys are the gospel. They give great insight to wire or retire your brain to see opportunities and travel the world incredibly cheaply or in otherwise often out of reach luxury! Nick and Greg have natural chemistry. Batting ideas effortlessly and giving keen insight into the game. Definitely recommend listening to these guys and followi... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Greg's choice: saving points from a Wells Fargo shutdown | Coffee Break Ep115 | 7-21-26
Q: What would be the best transfer to maximize value given the sale on Choice points and the 180k transfer cap?
The hosts lean toward Air France KLM Flying Blue as a reliable default for broad usability and Delta/redemption opportunities, but ultimately Greg chose Choice Privileges due to personal flexibility and a favorable balance of transfer ratios, while acknowledging the risk of 18-month expirations and the need to maintain activity.
Do we book speculatively, hoping for a schedule change? | Question of the Week Ep8 | 7-5-26
Q: Do we book speculatively hoping for a schedule change?
The hosts discuss weighing the potential savings and routing improvements against the mental overhead and the varying airline rules, noting it can work in practice but isn't something they actively rely on due to complexity and uncertainty.
Book airfare through credit card portal or direct? | Question of the Week Ep6 | 6-21-26
Q: Book airfare through credit card portal or direct?
The hosts agree that portal bookings can offer higher earn rates (up to eight points per dollar with Chase) but often come with more friction and less robust travel protections, so many travelers opt for direct airline bookings to maximize protections and minimize hassles, especially for cancellations or schedule changes.
Earn 8x or redeem with Chase Travel℠ Point Boosts? | Question of the Week Ep4 | 5-24-26
Q: With Chase Travel offering 8X on travel and hotels, should someone always book through the portal to maximize the multiplier?
The hosts say it depends on your earning versus redemption strategy, the prices Chase Travel offers, and whether you can achieve better value through redeeming points later. If you already have a large stash and can redeem for higher value, you may prefer spending rather than earning, but if you need more points or if Chase Travel offers close pricing with favorable redemption potential, earning 8X can still be attractive.
Should I split a points transfer into smaller buckets? | Question of the Week Ep5 | 5-31-26
Q: What should Keith do after a transfer stalls or an award disappears?
Set up alerts for the original route and alternative routes, as awards can reappear or other flights may become available, and consider booking for multiple travelers if pricing changes allow.
