  • Some nuggets but

So there are a few good nuggets here but I find the shows are getting longer and have too many academics discussing too much theory. Would prefer a more practical approach.

Q: What evidence-backed thing would you want someone to try in the next 30 days?
Start Map Your Days: journal briefly each day to classify days as good or bad, record a high and a low, and then review the pattern over two weeks to identify what actions or circumstances consistently boost or hinder well-being; this simple, five-minute daily practice yields meaningful insights and can be adapted to fit individual routines.
Map Your Days & Build Wellbeing – Matt Bloom
Q: Well-being is such a big topic. How do you define it?
Well-being is your mental, emotional, and spiritual health, encompassing mostly good, uplifting thoughts and feelings, a sense of life meaning, and movement toward noble goals; it is more than a momentary feeling and is nourished by consistent, meaningful practices.
Inside The Healthcare Heist – Jordan Grumet, MD
Q: What three things can patients do to improve their experience even if the system isn't fixed yet?
Take control by appealing denied care, avoid ownership by private equity where possible, and use generic medications to reduce costs while maintaining effective treatment.
Inside The Healthcare Heist – Jordan Grumet, MD
Q: What steps would you recommend for people interested in building healthcare literacy into their retirement planning?
Know that Medicare involves costs, understand long-term care needs, compare Medicare Advantage with secondary insurance, and study healthcare spending in retirement to make informed decisions; be proactive and educate yourself about costs and options.
Grand Expectations & and the Unspoken “But” – Celia Dodd
Q: Grand Expectations, your new book shines a light on the rich and tricky emotional terrain of grandparenting. What's the secret behind being involved but not intrusive?
The secret is to be supportive without taking over, avoid making assumptions about how often you visit, and let your adult children set the pace and boundaries that work for their family.
