Complete with host, Jimmy Diresta, and two other guys who Jimmy might allow to speak every once in a while. But not in complete sentences. A show with Jimmy’s funny stories, decades of experience, and solutions no one asked for for other people’s problems.
I’ve been listening for over 10 years and the only thing I can consistently rely on lately is that one guy is going to get his work done while two guys are going to complain about how hard it is to do what they do, which is work from home and make a 22 minute YouTube video every 10-20 days of a very specific to them furniture and/or blatantly rip off other peoples design and work and not give them the proper credit.

I know it’s been said by a hundred people, but listening to this podcast is like hanging out with your follow creatives & or small business owners. I operate a custom metal fab shop in Austin Texas, doing creative & high end custom work. Seems like every episode is a conversation that I’ve had with my employees / friends / other business owners / or in my own head. Thanks to you guys for verifying that I am not insane, but yes we all have these issues, successes, failures, and questions. Love th... more
Hey guys, long time listener, first time commenter ;) The podcast is great - just wanted to toss an idea your way. Maybe every now and then you could call out and search a hashtag like #MakingItSmall (or something) to find creators who are out there getting their hands dirty, doing the work, and keeping the maker spirit alive. Not as a handout or just picking out rockstars, but more like tipping your hat to those small or newer folks carrying the torch of creative making. Could be a nice way to ... more
I recently binged the last 3 years of this podcast. Although Diresta was primarily what drew me to listen, as the show progresses through the years, the most likable and relatable person to me is actually Bob Clagett. Here are my takeaways from a listener’s point of view: • the podcast is essentially about 3 guys slowly coming to terms with the inevitable ends of their YouTube careers - maybe not the ends of their careers so much as the evolution of them; • it lacks any clearly defined pathway f... more
