I was trying to explain to someone who Jimmy DiResta is and realized how ridiculous it sounds out loud—he’s basically a guy who can pick something up off a New York City street and turn it into a lamp. Then you’ve got Bob Clagett, a full-on Star Wars nerd who casually built his own R2-D2 (which is honestly awesome), and Dave—who I somehow missed until now but am quickly making up for.

Been listening to Making It since the very first episode. Each week it's like catching up with friends. There's a reason that they're more over 500 episodes and are a standard within the maker community.
Listening to Jimmy, David and Bob talk about making, problem solving and life in general has been a highlight of my week for many years. They are full of information and inspiration in every episode. They usually start out with nothing to talk about and then talk about that for about an hour. 🤣
If you’re looking for a podcast that will embolden your maker spirit, this is the one!
I’ve been listening to these guys every Friday for the past 30 years or so. Wouldn’t change a thing. Three exceptional guys talking about their exceptional work! Love it, keep it up!

A trio of veteran makers—Jimmy Diresta, Bob Clagett, and David Picciuto—carry conversations that span hands-on builds, shop life, and the business of making. Episodes mix project updates (go-karts, metal and woodwork, art pieces) with practical tactics for productivity, content creation, and collaboration. The dynamic stays approachable and deeply human, often weaving in personal stories, behind-the-scenes craft insights, and long-form reflections on creativity, sustainability, and community. Noteworthy is the blend of mentorship, humor, and real-world maker culture, making it appealing for listeners who want actionable craft knowledge alongside candid career and life discussions.
