Rural optometry is a broad, fast-paced field where we handle glasses, contact lenses, and diseases often without nearby specialists, which keeps us on our toes and deeply connected to our communities.

Q: What got you into optometry and what keeps you excited about it today?
I was inspired by the people who encouraged me to consider optometry, and over 30 years in rural practice I've stayed energized by helping patients see clearly and by mentoring the next generation of optometrists.
