I'm thoroughly enjoying this podcast. Listening in from the Gold Coast in Australia and with a long held passion for all things Bomber Command, I am learning a great deal more with each episode. Thanks for making these informative and interesting episodes , that also capture the human element to these stories . Cheers. Don
Really superb. Given the subject, you’d expect a lot of things, and they’re all present: planes, strategies, people, battles. But where this one really excels is in personal connection. I get a much greater sense of connection to those who fought all those years ago from this podcast than I do from others, even though the others may also be excellent. Highly recommended.
Does what it says on the tin and takes listeners to the lesser covered in mainstream histories but vital cogs in the overall bombing campaign always very informative and well researched and referenced
I found this podcast through the Bomber Command Museum website ( Nanton, Alberta , Canada.) My Grandfather P.O John Arthur Ryan DFC ( aka, Jack Ryan) was a RCAF Pilot with Squadron 420 & 425 . I’ve been researching about my Grandfather as we never met him as he tragically died after the war (1951).while test piloting a P-51 mustang. I’ve been binge listening to this podcast and am absolutely addicted! I’m a Halifax fan and am loving learning about all the aspects of this war in the air and the b... more
Thanks for answering a question I hadn’t asked yet. I’m a fan of Len Deighton and am currently rereading Bomber and was wondering what you thought of it. Answered in episode 18
