I have listened for the last couple nights. I’m trying to leave an abusive marriage with no support system at all. I have nobody to turn to. This podcast is very enlightening and what I’ve always thought about men from the south. They’re mostly sexist weak men who use religion and what their fathers did to control. I have lost myself. He has gained more control especially lately. I didn’t even see it happening. I look forward to listening and hopefully gaining the strength to get out. Love this ... more
Covert Control
I cannot thank you for enough for putting into words the abuse I feel.
It always happens the last day I visit that the silent treatment comes in and I start to relive everything I said and did. Until I realized it’s not me…it’s a weapon of relationship destruction against me.
I love my son and grandson and pray that this behavior is not part of their lives.
Helpful stuff!! Thanks from a recovering scapegoat child from a narcissistic family <3
I have followed Lynn for years on You Tube. So happy I found her as she’s helped my journey back to reality!
I wish podcasts like this had been around in the mid 90’s!!! Extremely powerful delivery of important information. Thank you.

This show centers on narcissistic abuse recovery, with a focus on covert manipulation, gaslighting, and the ways patriarchal culture shapes relationships and gender roles. Across episodes, the host connects personal healing with broader social patterns—emotional labor, scapegoat dynamics, boundary setting, and strategies like going no contact. Content combines practical guidance for rebuilding autonomy with analysis of systemic inequality, offering listeners actionable steps and validation as they work toward healthier relationships and empowerment. A standout angle is tying individual recovery to cultural structures such as patriarchy, making the guidance relevant for both intimate and family contexts, workplaces, and community life.
