Brandon and Jane lift my spirits every week. I love this podcast!! I look forward to each episode immensely
I’ve listened to quite a few episodes over the past two years, so I think I’ve sampled it well. Some episodes are good, maybe a bit of fast forwarding. I’ve tuned out on some because of loud shrieking into the microphone. The bad- take the newest one about Cruising. I thought, cool, I’ll try again. The discussion was pretty good, but between the soda straw noises, some very loud mouth breathing sounds, and sometimes as many as 5 “likes” per sentence, I had to turn it off. I don’t listen for NPR/... more
…I really did, several eps, several movies, but the female host is AWFUL!!! I can’t tolerate her faux hysteria, interruptions, her millennial woke-rage at all old movies. AHH!
She ruins the movie walkthrough everytime by constantly jumping ahead cuz SHE wants to be THE ONE who talks about THAT scene first, she’s that kind of attention grabber - ‘oohh Miss, please pick me, I’m eversoooooo clever & funny’!. She’s neither of those things.
I could listen to the guy host all day talk & snark movies... more
I don’t really like running. But somehow I’ve decided to train for my first half marathon. So I’m spending more and more time running. This is a favorite podcast to turn on while doing so, as it makes me want to sink into the sidewalk and curl into the full fetal position a little bit less.
The dynamic between the hosts is amazing. Jane has the best, contagious laugh and Brandon seems to know just what buttons to push to get it going. The commentary is smart, the hosts definitely do their resea... more

Two best friends orbit around cinema, swapping favorites and forcing each other to rewatch and dissect a mix of beloved classics and surprising flops. The conversations weave witty banter with perceptive analysis, balancing affectionate nostalgia with sharper cultural critique. Episodes spotlight how films age, what they reveal about eras, and why certain titles endure as cultural touchstones—often mixing candid personal anecdotes with behind-the-scenes trivia. A standout throughline is the duo's dynamic: warm, playful rapport that invites listeners to re-evaluate familiar movies while discovering underappreciated gems and forgotten curiosities.
Noteworthy is the high-spirited, chemistry-driven format that blends entertainment with thought... more
