  • Eh

I’ve listened to this podcast since episode one and have done annual relistening starting from one. Lately it’s like they’re just focusing on the “holes.” Well that and Heated Rivalry of course. Just started today’s episode recap, and they’ve already spent the whole time trying to rewrite the episode instead of talking about a dead boy in a bus. We get it. The amount of skipping I have to do to just get to the actual story is frustrating. Would also love for them to do a little more research. Li... more

  • Update: Might need to stop

6/7 update: Look I really liked this podcast at the beginning. And I still like Kara. But it’s getting more obvious that Liza’s smoking is impacting the quality of the podcast. I had suspected she was high recording for a while but she just confirmed it on the pod. I have no problem with people doing what they say but One of the questions about whether you have an issue with substances is whether it impacts your job. And it’s starting to - she spaces, she interrupts, randomly changes topics, etc... more

  • They're slipping...

Kara's section of the pod always takes me out of it because it's so choppy. She's constantly misspeaking or repeating words, heard for her to make a clear sentence.

I think Liza is throwing around the term "blackout" a little too loosely. It's been so often that I just don't buy it.. sure it's funnier when you said you did things "blackout" but let's be real, no you weren't.

    Real blackouts are SCARY.

  • Some thoughts

Been a listener since Day 1 and love SVU (older episodes mostly) but Liza needs to lay off the substances. Every week it’s another story about how she got blackout drunk and probably got in a fight with someone - and she’s proud of this? Last week she said on air that she was drinking a beer and smoking a joint while recording, and this week Kara had to bring her back because she gave dead air. Cool it with the pot, girl. And why the hell can’t anyone learn how to pronounce a name or drug before... more

  • Used to love you

Just listened to the latest episode Bound. Liza, you think animal abuse is funny? Because the animal is small it’s ok to terrify it? You’re disgusting . I’m out.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mea Culpa w/ George Newbern
Q: How did you come to play Dr. Al Pollock, and did you expect the role to last beyond a single episode?
I was offered the part without an audition, and the showrunner at the time gave me the opportunity to join as a love interest on a multi-episode arc, which extended longer than I initially anticipated.
Deadly Ambition w/ Carolyn McCormick
Q: What drew you to play Dr. Olivet across Law & Order and SVU?
McCormick explains the appeal of Olivet's psychology-based perspective and how the character provided a bridge between the detectives and victims, while offering a broader view of investigative storytelling across the franchise.
Hothouse w/ Aya Cash
Q: How was it sitting across Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni on set?
Aya Cash describes it as intimidating but surreal, noting the legacy of the show and the pressure to perform, while also sharing how supportive the cast was once she relaxed.
Reasonable Doubt w/ Bradley Whitford
Q: What was your initial reaction when you read the script and realized the episode would engage with sensitive topics?
Whitford describes sleazy, but nuanced, approach to the material; he leaned into playing a complex director, aware of the controversy, while focusing on the character's humanity and the gravity of the issues.
Cold w/ Judith McCreary
Q: How do you measure the success of your episodes?
Judith describes the balance between addressing sensitive topics and ensuring engaging narratives for audiences. She acknowledges that real-life inspirations often bring depth to her writing.
