Gary does a great job of keeping me interested. The podcasts have been infrequent as of late but I listen immediately. I wish there was more. I have bought many books based on his recommendations.
Medieval Archives is a great podcast. Gary is a great narrator - he makes history exciting! Thoroughly enjoy this podcast and highly recommend it for history buffs who appreciate learning about both major events and unique or unusual insights into history, including hauntings!
A great listen while driving or crafting. A good review or introduction to all things medieval. It is heavily Euro-centric and from what I have listened to so far, mostly Great Britain and France though I have noticed some German topics.
The most recent narrator seems to be very comfortable with painting women in an incredibly dark light. I am sickened and disgusted with the ease in which the narrator has accused innocent women with the crime of with-craft (which does not exist). I do not care about whatever interesting history you have found, it is not okay to use false narratives to deepen the fake accusations against women who were mortally punished for doing nothing.
… but not a funny one. This is the worst history podcast on all of iTunes. All this guy does is read excerpts, probably from Wikipedia, really badly. He completely mispronounces names (shows a lack of knowledge, research and respect); he constantly stumbles over sentences, which sometimes even gives him the giggles and frequently sounds bored. I certainly can’t blame him for the latter. Instead of listening to this podcast, read Wikipedia and stab yourself in the eye with a fork. Samesies.
