The episode on Edward IV is beyond brilliant. Matt provides broad historical context and chronicled details about Edward and many in his circle. Normally I’d break the podcast into two parts, but I couldn’t stop listening to this one! Thank you Rebecca and Matt!
Great topics and many excellent guest speakers, but…less is more, as in, produce less with better content and less inane banter from Rebecca. It’s not funny, clever or interesting and one suspects guests may be starting to feel the same about being on the show.
This show used to be fun and educational. Now the silliness and giggling have become too distracting. You had a good thing going; please get your show back on the rails.
I’m so enjoying this series, both the way Matt describes events and people in such a relatable way, and the way you both interact. Informative and funny!
technical problem...the episode won't play on either of my podcast apps

This show blends scholarly Tudor history with lively storytelling and expert interviews, covering figures from Catherine of Aragon and Mary Boleyn to lesser-known queens and rebels across Europe. Episodes mix in-depth historical analysis with accessible narratives, occasional debate about sources and myths, and collaborations with historians, authors, and researchers. A notable element is the recurring Dr. Emma & Me series, which pairs hosts with a historian for a focused, conversational deep-dive; listeners often praise the accessible yet rigorous approach, the breadth of topics beyond the core Tudor era, and the engaging host dynamics that make dense history feel approachable for a broader audience.
