I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts! Especially this one with you and Dr. Owen Emerson. Beautifully detailed, excellent comments, and reading truths from Kingston‘s letters.
One of my favourite episodes - I had no idea that so much correspondence existed from the time she was imprisoned. How she showed concern for her mother and brother really brought it home what an awful situation everyone was in. And as for Uncle Norfolk… I too had a low opinion of him but this just confirmed it .
Fantastic podcast filled with everything you ever wanted to know about the Tudor's.
This podcast is fascinating. I’ve spent so much time reading about the Tudor period and its history but this podcast always exposes me to new information and ideas. Natalie is a skilled interviewer asking her guests questions that delve deeper into a subject. I also find her voice calming and lovely.
Thoroughly enjoyed the episode about Accidental Death with Prof Steven Gunn. Very interesting to hear how the available data informed the research. Made me want to dive in to documents in the Archives again.

Episodes routinely explore biographical arcs (from Bess of Hardwick to Mary Queen of Scots), political power, court culture, art and fashion, and the practicalities of historical research (manuscript production, archival work, curatorial choices). A standout trait is the mix of scholarly rigor with accessible storytelling, often tying historic figures to tangible sites, artifacts, and contemporary memory. The show frequently features guests who are authors and researchers, and it commonly situates Tudor stories within broader European contexts, making it appealing for listeners who enjoy well-sourced history presented with vivid... more
