This is where Dan shines. This is where he seems to do his best work although I don’t think he is any kind of super-historian but at a basic level he works at his better analysis and isn’t bad to listen to. Nobody should ever consider only one source on history but Dan is not the worst place to start study of specific issues and this is where his “amateur” status disables him the least because he seems to do his best to do the work of that discipline (historiograghic research). more
