So often when I hear people talking about food or appearance, the conversation is binary. “I’m being bad” (referring to getting a mocha latte) versus “I’m being good!” (Ate salad). We try to shame ourselves into “good behavior” and reward that behavior by “cheating”. Honestly, this cycle is totally exhausting. The language we use is so unhelpful.
The Love Your Whole Body podcast reimagines how we relate to our bodies and gently invites us to befriend ourselves. It’s anti-shame while still hold... more
Jessica Lacy is a breath of fresh air in a stagnant cultural atmosphere of how you "should" diet, "should" exercise, "should" overwork. She's not here to tell you what you need to do, she's here to help you discover the beauty you already are and how to trust and respond lovingly to your body. She's in tune with her own body and heart and is willing to be vulnerable which creates a pathway for healing for her listeners. If you're looking to transform, instead of conform, don't miss this.
I love the vision behind this show! I’m tired of messaging that tells us we are not enough, our bodies are not enough. This podcast is what we need right now, to learn how to love ourselves and honor our limitations and abilities.
I'm so excited about this podcast! Most of us struggle with some aspect of loving who we are (including our bodies), and I love that this podcast addresses many aspects of how that plays out. The host, Jessica, is honest and vulnerable about her personal journey into learning to love herself and her body, and invites others on the same journey. The content is solid, her voice is calming, and the conversations with her guests are authentic and engaging. I'm looking forward to future episodes and ... more
I appreciated Jessica's vulnerability in the inaugural episode. Her description of profound fatigue in response to feeling overwhelmed by her job could describe any one of a number of people in my life, including me! I've grown in love for my body over the years, but the analogy she used in comparing my relationship with my body with a human relationship yielded deep insights for me.
I've always been into fitness, but after a few years of doing the hardcore fitness trends and focusing on how I wanted my body to look, I burned out and slowed way down this past year. I'm going through a time of letting go of my expectations and looking at my health as a whole. I love how this podcast focuses on starting from the inside out with our health. The reflection questions are awesome. I'm looking forward to making this podcast apart of my self-care routine and further exploring how he... more
I like the candid and upbeat way the host relates her story to the advice she offers. She shared about her “year of rest” and how that restored her and set her on a better direction. I had a year that I took for myself, and went through similar coaching, so I can totally relate to the positive results. I look forward to hearing the “live coaching” sessions and expert guests that are coming up!
I really enjoyed the insight and valuable advice about focusing on your unique vision and practical steps to achieve your goals in this podcast series! Love the and encouragement and grace when we mess up too!!
