Great memories
After leaving my then German girlfriend’s parents house, late evening drives back to the RAF base at Gutersloh was never a chore with Alastair as company for the journey.
Sometimes, I’d remain sat in my car outside the accommodation block until he’d finished.
It’s the least his masterful monologues deserved.
I used to Listen to Alistairs Programme regularly whilst growing up what pure Genuis' this Great Man was ...Priceless to Hear these Gems on Podcasts!!
Particularly for those who remember the originals. One minor criticism - the 2 hour programme is slightly repetitious as regards introducing the guest commentators, for example. This doesn't detract from the content much & the whole set is worth the 5 stars overall.
A. Cooke was an original and a Titan in radio commentary.
Priceless… ‘eye-witness’ accounts of Nixon’s final speech, Mohammed Ali and so much more in these classics from Alastair Cooke. Great memories of hearing them the first time round :-)
