  • Can be decent but …..

Used to be absolute mandatory listening and now fluctuates between good bad and indifferent. Laura Kuenssberg must go down as one of the best journalists whilst being the singularly most irritating and as such it makes the podcast almost unlistenable

  • I’m done

Been a subscriber for years, but I’m done. Impartiality? Today’s episode was like listening to a Party Political broadcast. But for Trump

  • Enjoyable podcast

Excellent podcast. I enjoy my daily update and the presenters are informative yet they have a good rapport. Nice to have the mix of the seriousness of current events with a joke here and there. Keep up the good work!

  • Great but….

Where did the BBC style manual go ? Capitalisation of non-nouns in triple is distinctly Trumpian .

Journalism and explanatory chat is excellent .

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What No 10 Will Really Be Like For Andy Burnham
Q: How might Burnham's leadership style differ from Keir Starmer's, and how will that manifest publicly?
Burnham is expected to be more outward-facing and hands-on, with a stronger emphasis on public engagement and persona, using media appearances and real-world visits to illustrate delivering on promises and rebuilding trust.
Counter Terrorism Police Investigating Ann Widdecombe Death
Q: Why is it important not to speculate publicly while information is still being ascertained?
Speculation can distract the police, distress families, and potentially compromise investigations or future legal actions, so officials urge private discussion and careful, evidence-based public updates.
Counter Terrorism Police Investigating Ann Widdecombe Death
Q: So Danny, what might be some reasons for an investigation to switch from a murder inquiry to a counter-terrorism lead?
The police have to follow up on new information or evidence (like searches of property or background checks) that suggest a terrorism-related element, which can shift lead agencies and lines of inquiry while the murder investigation continues.
Who Is The Fraudster Who Paid For Farage’s Security?
Q: Did George Cottrell pay for Nigel Farage's staff in 2024?
Yes, according to the guest, the Sunday Times reporting confirms that Cottrell deposited monies in the bank accounts of third parties who provided Farage with staff and security before Farage became an MP.
Does Andy Burnham Have A New Plan For Tax?
Q: And you know, you've argued clearly why you made those decisions. But I just want to do you regret any of those decisions?
Reeves acknowledges that, looking back, there would be possible differences, but defends the overall long-term strategy of stabilizing the economy, reducing debt, and funding essential services like the NHS.
