  • Kudos

Niche feedback but the episode on 29/07/26 was a genuinely first rate discussion on the PMs speech today on adult social care reform and the Casey Commission. Bravo Newscast team 👏👏👏

  • Laura Kuebssberg ruins every episode she’s in

I generally enjoy listening to Newscast and the various presenters, except for anything presented by or including Laura Kuenssberg. She tries so hard to be “part of the club” by telling jokes and ridiculous anecdotes, and using funny voices to try to be funny, which ruins the entire episode and quite frankly is annoying and is taking up listening space. 8 minutes into an episode and we still haven’t got to the interview because she is waffling utter nonsense just to be heard and get some air tim... more

Excellent content but enthusiastic presentation too often slides into glib narcissism.

  • Anti Trump isn’t news

If it’s a new day, do try to work into the program how it’s all trumps fault.

It’s years past time to be open minded and maybe report on the news without the crutch of saying Trump - just one day per week. It just looks like you are a one trick pony with no other answers or investigation than Trump flapped his wings and everything in the news changed. Quality news organizations can look beyond this to the real story, or should.

  • Upper class bias

I have as much regard for the feelings of kier Starmer as he has for the feelings of disabled people he wanted to push into extreme poverty after taking heating from the elderly.

Are Apprenticeships The Answer To Youth Unemployment?
Q: What's the lay person's version of what he's announced today?
Burnham proposes giving 14-year-olds access to a wider set of technical training options alongside core subjects, with local plans shaping which routes are available, and more involvement from employers in curriculum and opportunities.
Russia Threatens The UK (Again)
Q: Does it seem like things have gone quiet on the diplomatic front?
Dan noted the pace of diplomacy had cooled since prior high-activity periods, with no resumed talks in sight, and emphasized that the conflict has moved into a slower, more tactical phase rather than a broad diplomatic push.
Russia Threatens The UK (Again)
Q: Dan, do we have any idea which of Ukraine's attacks inside Russia used British-made drones?
Dan said that while Britain had announced drone supply, specific identification of which attacks used the drones wasn't detailed; British sources confirmed two companies were involved, including BAE Systems, but the exact operation details remain unclear.
Old Newscast, 2010 Election: The Coalition (Part 1)
Q: But why was Cameron's early open offer to the Lib Dems considered such a big deal in the coalition negotiations?
Because it set a precedent for how quickly and assertively the Conservatives positioned themselves as capable of forming a government and willing to broker a deal, effectively narrowing the space for a Labour-led or minority scenario and signaling the seriousness of cross-party cooperation.
Old Newscast, 2010 Election: The Coalition (Part 1)
Q: And what's interesting about thinking about that mad dash is, what was the mood and strategy behind the final hours of Cameron's campaign run?
The hosts and guests describe an intense, almost surreal push with rapid decision-making, a mix of live broadcasting pressures, and an emphasis on projecting momentum to influence both the Lib Dems and the public, underscoring how energizing or exhausting campaigning can affect post-election decisions.
