I have enjoyed all of your episodes but two stand out.
Kathleen Turner & Maggie Smith both of whom I was lucky enough to work with on The Graduate & The Lady in the Van (whence they met).
Eileen Atkins’ (who I also knew briefly) episode was something else. Just mesmerising. Fabulous. I hope you get her back.
Thank you Gyles and Harriet.
I would give the majority of the Guests I've heard 4/5 stars. Gyles, however, probably 3 stars. He does not let people tell their stories without asking leading questions, and interrupts far too much. He's got his separate Diaries Episodes - that should be enough.
So look forward to each episode, the guests are always interesting and unlike a previous listener, I find Giles the perfect interviewer, he seems to sense difficult conversations and I find his responses very compassionate and insightful.
I LOVE this podcast so much, amazing guests and the diaries are brilliant too. But Giles’s interrupting of the guests and trying to put words in their mouths really grates at times. I noticed it a lot during the Alan Davies episode. Frequent interrupting and making incorrect assumptions at moments when Alan was opening up about his father and trying to express his feelings on some very sensitive topics. Giles, please just let the guests speak!
Love all your podcasts ! Really interesting and entertaining guests . Thank you
