  • HOW Many Summer Breaks was it again?

Homosapiens was one of the 1st Podcasts, I began listening to, after getting my 1st iPhone, where I could do such activities now. I found Chris, Will, Alan, then Chris (gone solo) & any guest you might have had on, like a just perfectly brewed coffee, to take your time delighting or being fully engaged with! • What a find

I found this podcast through the cross over with Like Minded Friends and could not be happier that I did. Heartwarming, inclusive and not afraid to tackle the big issues and concerns that affect many in the LGBTQIA+ community, I have been merrily routing through the back catalogue and have loved every episode I’ve heard. Thank you to all concerned for this thoroughly excellent podcast.

The sales pitches in the middle of the podcasts ruin everything. Just awful and unnecessary.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Rise of Reform and Playing Fascism on Stage with Kadiff Kirwan
Q: Would you just give us a quick little rundown about what the play is about?
The play is a Brechtian allegory about the rise of fascism—set in 1930s Chicago through a cauliflower-and-vegetable trade, with characters paralleling historical figures like Adolf Hitler and Ernst Röhm; Kadiff plays Roma, a stand-in for Röhm, and the production uses cabaret and queer identity to illuminate the story.
Fatherhood, Navigating Fear & the UK Care System with Jax Feeley
Q: How did your transition intersect with your role in the care system and your parenting journey?
Jax describes navigating identity while building a family, emphasizing honesty with partners and colleagues, and using personal experience to inform compassionate care for youth.
Your LGBTQ+ Health Questions Answered by Dr. Gareth Patterson
Q: What about risks and interactions between PrEP and other antibiotics like DoxyPEP?
Combining PrEP with antibiotics can disrupt the gut microbiome, so listeners should consider timing, watch for symptoms, and prioritize gut health through diet and fermented foods while staying informed about evolving guidelines.
Your LGBTQ+ Health Questions Answered by Dr. Gareth Patterson
Q: What is DoxiePEP and who should consider it?
DoxiePEP is a post-exposure antibiotic used after sexual activity to reduce the risk of chlamydia and syphilis; it's not daily-use, it's a one-off or limited course within a 24 to 72 hour window depending on guidelines.
Your LGBTQ+ Health Questions Answered by Dr. Gareth Patterson
Q: Where can someone obtain PrEP and why isn't it prescribed by GPs everywhere?
PrEP is typically dispensed through sexual health or GUM clinics rather than standard GP surgeries due to how the drug is classified and distributed, with clinics offering dedicated follow-up and broader STI screening.
