  • Brilliant

What a great interview with Sadiq Khan. So much of what he said is why we should remember the wonderful city and country we have - diverse, vibrant and on the side of equality. I remember what it was like in the 80s as an Irish person and that’s not a patch on what the black and brown communities went through. Forget the billionaire run media, get back to community living and listening to individuals. Wonderful. 👏

  • Great podcast

James always gets the best out of people and can keep the conversation going even if the guest is struggling. I like Martin Shaw but he was hard work. I don’t know if it’s his age, but James had to really keep asking questions to keep the interview flowing.

  • Bill Nighy

I have come to this podcast late. I have just listened to his conversation with Bill Nighy. I enjoy listening to Bill Nighy speak about anything I liked the easy relaxed questioning. The interviewee was the star not the interviewer. Will listen to some more episodes

Q: What did your research into meatpacking reveal about workers and the industry?

Eric Schlosser: The Shocking Truth Behind Fast Food and Corporate America
Q: How did Fast Food Nation come to be, and why did you decide to turn it into a book rather than a short article?
Rolling Stone asked me to write about fast food and the origins of the industry; I initially hesitated, read extensively, and realized the fast food system had transformed the way Americans eat and how power operates in society, which made it a compelling, longer project.
Billy Idol: The Punk Rock Icon who "Should Be Dead"
Q: Can you talk about the challenges with addiction and how you found a path back to health and family?
Idol speaks frankly about near-destruction due to drugs, the motorcycle accident, and choosing to change for his children and future, emphasizing the importance of setting a stable example.
Billy Idol: The Punk Rock Icon who "Should Be Dead"

He describes recognizing that continuing in England would limit new audiences and that MTV and American radio could launch his career to a new level, which led to his relocation and collaborations there.
Billy Idol: The Punk Rock Icon who "Should Be Dead"
Q: What role did fashion and image play in your rise, and how did that evolve with your music?
Idol discusses the early adoption of bleached hair, sharp clothes, and Vivienne Westwood-influenced aesthetics as integral to his identity and the broader punk movement.
