Harriet’s shoes are difficult to fill and
Jeff is doing a good job but the podcast has become less whimsical and too serious. I think that because they have more time it’s often used for diversions down serious and often boring avenues about parenting, therapy and “poor downtrodden George”. I never thought I’d want a shorter podcast but if I’m not driving I have to fast forward through these sections.
I love this podcast. Jeff and Lucy bounce off one another and their banter is always fun. It was good to hear Harriet back as Chelsea this week. It’s a giggle a minute and I look forward to a good laugh on a Monday morning. Keep up the good work and take no notice of any miserable naysayers. You’re both doing an excellent job.
I love this podcast! Lucy & Jeffrey do a great job - they celebrate the good bits, call out the nonsense (which there is more and more of these days - The Archers used to be the gold standard of continuity… not any more!) and generally discuss this beloved long running soap in a proper, normal way. They are funny & warm. Frankly they are what keeps me listening to the Archers - so that I can listen to them at the end of the week and see if they are as irritated/annoyed/incredulous as I am!
I really love this show, it’s a great look at the archers without taking the whole thing too seriously, ignore the misery reviews - they’re clearly bots - this show is a great listen.
Updated 2026 to say it’s not same without Harriet and can’t get through a whole episode now. Downgraded my rating.
This is such a gem of a show for fans. I look forward to my Sunday morning giggle and insight fix..... It really is like catching up with mates who share my Archers appreciation! Thank you. Top work.
