  • Grateful to speak about my daughter Johnna

Being on Susan Claire’s podcast Grieving Overdose Death was such a meaningful experience for me. Susan gave me the space to share my daughter Johnna’s story — something that isn’t always easy to do, but she made me feel safe, understood, and truly heard.

Talking about losing a child to overdose is painful, but Susan’s compassion and gentle way of listening allowed me to open up in hopes that maybe someone else out there who is grieving won’t feel so alone. I’m so thankful she is giving families ... more

I take comfort in listening to this podcast, hearing others’ stories whom I can completely relate. It gives a voice to those who no longer have one and allows for a therapeutic experience to the ones left behind. I was interviewed by Susan, who allowed me to tell my brothers’ stories, which was very cathartic. She was so gentle, kind and compassionate. This podcast does not only help with the grieving/healing process, it humanizes the victims of this deadly epidemic. They were more than just “an... more

  • Meaningful and compassionate

Many times I share our family’s story with someone who has NOT experienced our loss - I appreciate the opportunity but there is something very special about talking to another mom who’s heart has been broken like mine. These stories are hard but necessary to share and my hope is that we all find some healing by being in community together. Thank you, Susan, for such a place.
