Being on Susan Claire’s podcast Grieving Overdose Death was such a meaningful experience for me. Susan gave me the space to share my daughter Johnna’s story — something that isn’t always easy to do, but she made me feel safe, understood, and truly heard.
Talking about losing a child to overdose is painful, but Susan’s compassion and gentle way of listening allowed me to open up in hopes that maybe someone else out there who is grieving won’t feel so alone. I’m so thankful she is giving families ... more
I take comfort in listening to this podcast, hearing others’ stories whom I can completely relate. This podcast is so done, it celebrates the lives of these amazing men and women. They are victims of the opiod epidemic, they were essentially murdered but no one seems to care. It brings me great comfort to here these stories that are so similar to mine.

Many times I share our family’s story with someone who has NOT experienced our loss - I appreciate the opportunity but there is something very special about talking to another mom who’s heart has been broken like mine. These stories are hard but necessary to share and my hope is that we all find some healing by being in community together. Thank you, Susan, for such a place.
