As a man, we tend to avoid seeking any type of mental health counseling because we think we can take on the world on our own. This podcast has opened my eyes. I learn something new every week. Even something so simple as reflecting on why we aren’t getting through to our spouse was something I wasn’t doing. We live in such hectic environments with so many distractions that we forget to reflect on our own behaviors, goals, etc. I look forward to many more episodes!
As a currently single single mom to a black boy this podcast really helps me increase my awareness of the mindset challenges men face and have better strategies and techniques to improve my healing journey and be a better woman and mother for myself and my son.
This was one of the best episodes yet! Jonathan is truly compassionate and open about his own trauma and gives callers a safe space to express their own experiences without judgement or ridicule.
These are conversations that are not often discussed among men. This is a great start. I wonder how would this discussion go if you include a “seasoned” person on your show??
I am so happy to find a show that is both engaging and informative. It’s critical to have men in our community speaking about mental health, because they’re able to relate to young boys better. As we continue to fight the stigma surrounding mental health and illness, I will continue to support these conversations.
