  • Podcast arrangement needs a major improvement

These podcasts need more content more music. Some of the interviews are great! Others I feel I’m just hearing more Jackie and less from the artists. Really? Kreator and Miss May I to be specific

  • A lack of music

Too bad that Full Metal Jackie doesn’t add a few tracks from the artist or what the artist likes/influenced him/her

  • Typical annoying metal radio host

I found this podcast on High on Fire’s facebook page referring to a Matt Pike interview. It was 14 minute duration and half of it was the host blabbering about upcoming stuff on the show. I’m 47 and just don’t have patience for time wasting. I listened to the Rob Halford, Barney Greenway and Matt Pike. No more for me. I can’t take this radio host.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Attila Csihar of Mayhem on the FMJ RADIO SHOW!
Q: What was the core concept behind Liturgy of Death?
Attila explains it emerged from an open, evolving interest in mortality, philosophy, and the human condition rather than a fixed plan, with lyrics and music developing as the project progressed.
Woody & Pepper of COC guest on the FMJ RADIO SHOW!
Q: Do you still fan out when meeting your heroes like Judas Priest or Alice Cooper, and how did those experiences affect your approach on this record?
They recount meeting Priest and Cooper on tour, using those interactions as inspiration, and how studying the greats helped inform their approach to the record and to performing live with the legacy of those bands in mind.
Woody & Pepper of COC guest on the FMJ RADIO SHOW!
Q: What were some of the touch tones that got the ball rolling musically and did revisiting early albums reignite or take you back to the passion you had when you first started this band?
They describe late-stage jam sessions, plane trips to collaborate in the Mississippi shack, and rediscovering core influences, which sparked collaboration and a renewed sense of excitement about making new music together.
Woody & Pepper of COC guest on the FMJ RADIO SHOW!
Q: So again, we're talking about the Good God, Bad Man. It's been a while, but with a double album, it's understandable. Obviously, a lot was hitting you creatively.
Pepper and Woody explain that the band kept writing, refining the concept, and decided on a two-album format as the obvious path once lyrics started carving the direction, with a focus on maintaining energy and cohesion across the two records.
Zakk Wylde on the FMJ RADIO SHOW!
Q: How much did performing Ozzy Osbourne material influence the new album's writing and sound?
Wylde notes that Ozzy's material and his touring memories shaped the approach to the track, with live energy and storytelling guiding the arrangement and lyric direction.
