Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ranella Ferrer: Breaking Barriers, Finding Her Voice & Representing Asian Artists
Q: What has been keeping you busy lately beyond the National Anthem gigs?
I've been focusing on continuing live shows, expanding my role with the Happy Group on red-carpet coverage, and exploring potential Grammy considerations as an independent artist, while staying active in the industry through networking and performance.
Larry Kasanoff: Hollywood Producer, Studio Executive & Author
Q: What advice would you give to creatives trying to break into film or music?
Create your idea, seek help broadly, and pursue it in a state of play while never giving up; passion and perseverance often trump raw talent alone.
Larry Kasanoff: Hollywood Producer, Studio Executive & Author
Q: Tell me about the Malibu Blonde story and its concept.
The concept grew from Malibu's iconic image; the photographer-author sought to capture playful, innocent sexiness associated with the locale, reintroducing it in a way that contrasts with today's fear-driven world, and the book quickly resonated with readers.
Little Image: Reimagining Modern Rock
Q: What was the process of writing Narcoleptic, and how did personal experiences shape it?
We wrote Narcoleptic with close friends during a break from touring, using driving in a car as a metaphor for staying present, while the sound nods to our younger days and reflective chord choices.
Little Image: Reimagining Modern Rock
Q: What's the tour coming up and who are you sharing the bill with?
The tour starts July 29th, and we're opening for Young the Giant and Cold War Kids, which is an exciting opportunity to reach broader audiences across the U.S. Midwest and beyond.
