Victoria Perks On Fuzzbox Fame And The Book That Sparked A New Era
Q: If someone was just discovering your band for the first time, what would you want them to listen to first?
Victoria suggests starting with the first album and the single Rules and Regulations as a rebellious, defining track that captures the band's early attitude and sound.
Richard Hewson’s RAH band: Journey From Bedroom Demos To Global Streams
Q: What do you hope listeners take away from your music, and which tracks would you want them to hear first?
Hewson emphasizes storytelling and emotional resonance, noting that the best work is the one that connects on a personal level. He cites Across The Bay as a favorite, along with orchestral and dance-oriented pieces, inviting new listeners to explore the back catalog and the ongoing Life After Love Songs project.
Richard Hewson’s RAH band: Journey From Bedroom Demos To Global Streams
Q: Was there a moment in the studio or hearing a track back when you felt this was different or special?
He recalls Clouds Across The Moon coming together during a period of international collaboration and the risk-taking involved in experimenting with space-themed lyrics, which ultimately resonated with audiences and became a signature piece.
Richard Hewson’s RAH band: Journey From Bedroom Demos To Global Streams
Q: In the early years of your music career, you were a producer and an arranger, then you created the Ra Band. How did that come together?
Hewson explains he started in arrangement work for others, realized royalties were minimal, and decided to write and record his own material. He began with bedroom demos, taught himself multiple instruments, and used multi-track setups to create a complete band sound that could be performed live later as the Ra Band.
Howard Jones On Synths, Stardom, And Staying Authentic
Q: What do you hope listeners take away from your music 50 years from now?
A positive message about celebrating difference and resilience, along with tunes that linger in the listener's head and feel uplifting regardless of era.
