I have listened to these guys for over 10 years now. I love the show, but the dynamic of it has shifted over the past few years. I find myself going back and listening to old episodes that I enjoy instead of the new ones. The newer episodes are good, but sometimes it feels like they are scraping for topics and phoning it in. Two things seem to be going on here. In terms of content, these guys seem to be solid researchers with a good knowledge base and some real insight. In terms of presentation, they often lapse into puerile bro behavior that can render the show almost unlistenable. I was mildly surprised to make it to the end of a longish episode, and even more surprised that I downloaded the next two in the story (the Green River killer). On balance they deliver the substance, but there's a lot of cringe.
