  • Growth

I’ve been listening since the beginning and the knowledge and growth I’ve experienced are indescribable. Starting in a family body shop and seeing the daily struggles and listening to this podcast led me to starting a new venture that focuses on helping body shops handle their insurance claims. We need more shop focused services.

  • Uh huh

Good info but hard to listen to when the girl host says uh-huh after ever other word when the guests are speaking I lost count at 60 uh-huh’s in the first 10 minutes

  • Pre & post scan on vehicles

Need a podcast on the cons of having a scan tool that does pre and post scans for collision repairs. Also on how important it is for a shop to own one.

  • Good content; Poor audio quality

Having been in this industry for 42 years, I’ve seen it come from come-along pulls on a tree to laser measuring, dedicated repair areas, computer diagnostics, and ever changing OEM repair method requirements.

With these changes we need the type of information and discussions heard in these podcasts. But the podcast should reflect the quality and precision now required in our industry.

The host is always very tinny like he’s the guest calling in from a landline. Simply invest in a decent mic.... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

GM Enhances Collision Assistance Tool
Q: Can you walk us through how the enhanced Collision Assistance app operates in a typical scenario?
The app can detect a crash either via vehicle sensors or through the user's own activity in the app, then notifies the customer and guides them to shop for repair, collect critical information, and connect with GM-certified shops, all at the customer's own pace.
Changing Lives with NABC
Q: Is that something that I need to first be a member of NABC to, or can I enroll at that time or how does that process work?
Debby explains that the Keys for Change program is open to everyone, and individuals or shops can donate a vehicle by registering online or calling to arrange pickup, without requiring NABC membership.
How Training and Development Drive Success at CARSTAR
Q: How do you train differently for your front office operations versus your production floor?
He describes tailoring training around empathy and communication for front-office roles, while production training focuses on repair procedures and reading ROs; both paths rely on structured processes and matching staff to the right vehicle technology and tasks.
How Training and Development Drive Success at CARSTAR
Q: What inspired you to make the training and development a priority in your Carstar business?
Jason explains that the driving force is ensuring the team can repair to manufacturer standards, support career growth, and ultimately improve customer experience across a growing network; ongoing development is tied to both business outcomes and personal fulfillment for staff.
Changes Coming from BAR for California Repairers
Q: Could you walk us through a bit of what has changed and how shops can prepare?
There are five main categories of change, including the need for separate towing charges, a new definition of third‑party payers, simplified language on estimates, and the requirement to itemize tear-downs with clear customer disclosure; and finally, a push for shops to write their own repair estimates rather than just relying on insurer estimates, with added documentation requirements.
