  • Keep it up!

I’ve really enjoyed listening to this podcast. I found Bikepack Adventures upon returning home from my second bike tour (France to Istanbul) and it’s been really nice to listen to stories/ still feel connected to the bike travel community as my trip ends and I transition back to ‘regular’ life… and maybe start dreaming about the next trip!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Thor Tingey | Alpacka Raft - Where Packrafting Meets Bikepacking
Q: What is the main consideration when planning a bike pack rafting trip?
The main consideration has shifted from prioritizing water routes to minimizing land travel while maximizing floating segments, recognizing that the bike section often remains the more efficient part and the goal is to walk the least to get the most floating.
Bikepacking Essentials #4 | Packing Systems & Gear Strategy
Q: As of today, what is your favorite setup for your bike?
Carl and Chris discuss a spectrum from frame bags to panniers and seat packs, emphasizing that the best setup is one that keeps heavy items low and centered, allows easy access, and fits the rider's trip duration and terrain.
Bangers Bikepacking Rally with Dean Dahl
Q: What are the core principles behind making Bangers a community-focused, low-pressure event?
The core idea is inclusivity and accessibility: a free, open-ended weekend where teams choose their routes, film their experiences, and share their stories rather than race. The event emphasizes collaboration, volunteer spirit, and a sense of belonging over competition, with support from local clubs and sponsors to keep it grassroots and of high quality.
Bangers Bikepacking Rally with Dean Dahl
Q: What made you choose the North Okanagan as the base for Bangers instead of closer to Vancouver?
The North Okanagan was chosen for its quieter, more remote roads that still have well-maintained access, and to avoid the traffic and crowding around Vancouver while keeping access to scenic single-track and country roads. It provides a balance of accessibility and seclusion that suits a weekend, self-directed format.
Inside the Tour Divide with Robert Givens: Riding, Recording, and Storytelling
Q: What did the Divide teach you about yourself that you didn't already know?
It taught Robert that he doesn't need very much to get by in a day and emphasizes the importance of appreciating what one has beyond the bikepacking experience.
