  • Terrific

The latest podcast with John Cobb was excellent storytelling! John’s deep experience, humility and ability to paint a picture through words was a great listen to anyone interested in bikes, engineering or problem solving. Good job to Josh for knowing when to talk and knowing when to listen!

  • First seasons were great.

I really wish there was more Josh and less of the other guys. I used to love Hottie and Fatty but lately it seems like they’re talking just to talk. 15% less Fatty, 7.5% less Hottie would drastically change the show. Also, stop making me skip the first 2-3 minutes of the show. Give me 1 short advert and then just get into it.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AJA #46: Safety Pins, TPU Wins & Indoor Suffering
Q: Is the factory lubrication for the Zwift Ride compatible with strip chip and any other marginal gains?

AJA #46: Safety Pins, TPU Wins & Indoor Suffering
Q: Is sweat evaporation cooling more efficient during indoor training with or without a jersey?
The answer is still unclear, and Josh noted that he needs to do more research on the topic, mentioning experiences from clothing companies but expressing personal comfort riding indoors without a jersey.
AJA #45: Pump Accuracy & Cheap Carbon Parts
Q: Are we risking anything by going with some of these less expensive carbon options?
Most low-cost carbon parts risk quality and safety; reputable factories exist, but beware of obvious knock-offs or counterfeit products.
AJA #45: Pump Accuracy & Cheap Carbon Parts
Q: Does accuracy degrade as pumps get older?
Yes, mechanical gauges can experience strain hardening over time, causing them to read under the actual pressure.
AJA #45: Pump Accuracy & Cheap Carbon Parts
Q: What should we know about tandems and tire pressure calculators?
Tandem calculators can be tricky since there isn't much baseline data; using a calculator requires adjustments based on real-world conditions, as data on tandem weight and tire pressure is less common.
