  • LOVE the show…not the audio

I truly love this podcast and listen to every one, but the quality of the audio has gone downhill. More often than not, there is at least one presenter whose audio is much higher or lower than the other’s, making it unbearable to listen to in the car without constantly having to raise and lowering the volume. Please, please fix this so I can keep listening to all of the great discussions, breaking news and talented presenters! You guys are the best!!!

  • Varied and informative

Good: UK focus, varied mix of road, gravel and MTB. I would like more about everyday “just ride” stuff, eg getting out on the MTB from your front door rather than driving to a trail park, training and riding for weekend warriors

Why hi-vis isn’t a silver bullet for cycling safety (and what to do instead)
Q: How do indoor training sessions often focus on intensity and can it lead to neglecting base training?
There is a risk that indoor sessions can become too intense, especially for recreational cyclists who rely on FTP tests that may overestimate their thresholds.
Why hi-vis isn’t a silver bullet for cycling safety (and what to do instead)
Q: What are your thoughts on the 80-20 training method?
The 80-20 concept suggests that professional athletes spend 80% of their time training at low intensity and 20% at high intensity. For amateur athletes, this might shift to a 70-30 or 60-40 ratio to avoid overloading on high intensity.

Q: What is the significance of Zone Two in a cyclist's training?
Zone Two is important as it marks the intensity where the body starts to adapt effectively, improving aerobic capacity and fat-burning capability.
Is the future of bike racing all indoors? Plus how to avoid burn-out this winter with Rouvy coach, Stephan Neusser
Q: Can riders risk training too hard indoors?
Yes, particularly if their FTP is miscalculated, leading to training being too intense than planned for their actual capabilities.
Is the future of bike racing all indoors? Plus how to avoid burn-out this winter with Rouvy coach, Stephan Neusser
Q: What are your thoughts on the 80-20 training method and why is it potentially effective?
The 80-20 training focus means spending 80% of training at low intensity and 20% at high intensity, which helps manage overload for both professionals and amateurs.
