High Speed Marking & Sonar Settings Explained with Bruce Samson - Bigwater Podcast Episode #107
Q: What are the key adjustments you make to sonar settings when you're marking at speed?
Bruce notes that often the baseline is near factory defaults; important changes include transducer setup, keeping memory clear with appropriate scroll speed choices, and adjusting sensitivity partly in response to water conditions and software updates.
High Speed Marking & Sonar Settings Explained with Bruce Samson - Bigwater Podcast Episode #107
Q: Give me your set up on what we need to do to be successful at marking fish at high speeds, meaning over 20 miles per hour.
Bruce emphasizes correct transducer selection for high-speed skimming, using a dedicated, properly mounted skimmer sized for the boat, and avoiding overly large three-in-one transducers that can reduce readability at speed.
Nick Lindner Talks Walleye, YouTube, & his recent Lake Erie Trip - Bigwater Podcast Episode #106
Q: What does a typical week look like for Nick as a YouTube fishing creator?
A typical week involves getting out on the lakes to film content, then returning to edit and post on YouTube and social media, with additional work for sponsor partners and occasional TV-related projects.
How Austin Tomasek WON the LAKE ERIE NWT Walleye Tournament - Bigwater Podcast Episode #104
Q: What changed most for you after adopting forward-facing sonar, and how did it affect your win on Lake Erie?
It shifted from reactive to proactive fishing; I could see fish at speed, adjust lines, and position the boat to get baits right on the fish's nose, which dramatically increased bite windows and allowed me to target tournament-sized walleyes.
Stalkers, Scallops, Hogfish & more! Captain Katie Jo - Bigwater Podcast Episode #82
Q: Can you give some advice on what clients should be better informed about before fishing with you?
Clients should be specific about what they want to catch or achieve during their fishing trip, whether it's for eating, catching anything, or seeking trophy fish.
