  • Lost a listener

Used to love this show. After a couple episodes ago where you went on a rant about “purple hair people” my kid who was riding in the car asked why a Christian man was talking poorly and verbally bullying someone. I turned the episode off and couldn’t finish it. Then I was listening to your next episode today for you to go on another rant about how Christian guys could talk poorly and lie about you. Best of luck. Unsubscribed.

  • Ego gets in the way of a great podcast

Don and Terry put out some great tips and information. The constant rants on young guys, politics, and building up of themselves to I guess seem more credible really gets in the way of this being a great podcast. If you can wade through the ego talks and rants against others to get to the actual content there’s some good info to listen to.

The Magic of Late October | Cold Fronts, Big Bucks & Character in the Woods | Chasing Giants #295
Q: Why don't you like expandable broadheads?
They can lead to a loss of deer when hitting the shoulder, and there's a higher chance of deer being lost with them than with cut-on-contact heads.
The Magic of Late October | Cold Fronts, Big Bucks & Character in the Woods | Chasing Giants #295
Q: Do you guys worry about keeping your truck or hunting trailer scent free during hunting season?
It's not a priority; playing the wind is more important. Some hunters focus too much on scent control instead of wind management.
#294 From Old School to High Tech: Don Higgins Reflects on 40 Years in the Deer Woods
Q: Does consistently mean every year or something else when discussing harvesting certain size deer?
Consistency means at least 80 percent of the time; for four out of five years, you're killing your target buck.
#294 From Old School to High Tech: Don Higgins Reflects on 40 Years in the Deer Woods
Q: Does it lose the appeal of the original hobby that you fell in love with when you turn your hobby into a career or a business?
The hunting part remains enjoyable, but dealing with certain people in the industry can be challenging.
Faith, Hunting & Courage After Tragedy | Chasing Giants Podcast Ep. 290
Q: Do you believe you can take a property and build the habitat and do the right things to the point where your summer bucks are staying all fall?
It's a two-pronged approach of habitat management and deer herd management; improving habitat helps but management is crucial.
