Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

742 Mason Walk - The 7 Year Old Bowhunter!
Q: So you're just, when you can, dude, I don't even know where to start with that, because it's like, I have kids, I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old, and they're going to start hunting, I think, next fall. My six-year-old's a girl, she's a little smaller and can't, she's got a little compound that a listener had actually sent, and she can get it, but it's a little bit heavy for her, so I'm going to get them into some real compounds, some tiny ones. Did you go through the same kind of deal with him?
Yes, we started with lighter weight bows and made sure he could shoot sharp points. It makes a big difference for their confidence.
742 Mason Walk - The 7 Year Old Bowhunter!
Q: Mason, did you get to skip school today?
Yes, he was very happy about it and found it exciting to be on the podcast.
740 October Hunting With The Interns
Q: What's the best strategy to stay away from other people on public land?
Get in early, explore less popular hunting areas, and be ready to adapt to the presence of other hunters.
740 October Hunting With The Interns
Q: Can you overhunt a stand even with the right wind?
Yes, you can overhunt a stand, depending on the entry and exit strategies as well as the deer movement patterns in the area.
733 Bowhunting Learning Curve with Jacob Markley
Q: What goals do you have for next season?
I want to get more properties and hunt mature deer, focusing on those that I've learned about.
