  • Best whitetail podcast

Dude this podcast rocks. I have been listening to it since 2019 and I’ve not put it down. From solid advise on gear to shot placement Arron does a great job! If you have food plot questions, equipment questions, anything and everything is always answered in his shows. Also being from Michigan this has helped in many ways. The tactics Arron uses and does works and I have the proof from state to private grounds. He always has guests that are awesome to listen to as well! From episode 2 up until ep... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP 519 | Would I Still Film If Nobody Watched? | Q&A
Q: If nobody ever saw the final production, would you still film?
Absolutely. Filming is a personal habit and memory-keeping motivation; the act of filming and the process of editing are integral to the creator's relationship with hunting and history, regardless of an audience.
EP 519 | Would I Still Film If Nobody Watched? | Q&A
Q: Has the content style changed across Dropped, Rival Wild, and Grit, and how does that affect filming?
Yes. Dropped was a focused, 30-day mission with strong production guidance; Rival Wild was cinematic and story-driven with controlled shooting and interviews; Grit is a day-in-the-life, near-nonstop filming style that leaves little downtime, requiring a more immersive, in-the-moment approach.
EP 519 | Would I Still Film If Nobody Watched? | Q&A
Q: How did your mentality have to shift going from Dropped into a Whitetail season?
Dropped felt like a tightly planned mission with set milestones and production meetings, while Whitetail was more flexible and allowed the story to unfold, with the emphasis on filming what happens rather than scripting it. The shift was from a calendar-driven, episodic production to a more open, event-driven filming approach where the hunt could dictate the narrative.
Film the Fall | The Art of Self Filming Whitetails w/ JJ Dukart
Q: When did self filming start for you and why did you start wanting to do it yourself?
JJ explains that self-filming grew out of a need for control and storytelling; he valued being able to capture the hunt from eye level and tell the genuine story, which led to developing Deer Society and Illusion Systems as platforms to educate and entertain.
Film the Fall | “Giving Up the Bow: One Hunter’s Year Behind the Lens”
Q: What is the goal for you personally in filming hunting?
The goal isn't just to chase clicks or fame; it's to showcase real, hard-working hunting life, document stories, and preserve memories for future generations, while collaborating with a team to push creative storytelling.
