#352 - What You Can Actually Do To Combat EHD: Ecosystem Health and Water Quality with Zach Hass of EHDefense
Q: What are the steps in restoring ecosystem health to combat EHD?
Use the EHD fence products, which include a bio-catalyst to enhance decomposition in water bodies and improve ecosystem health by increasing beneficial bacteria.
#352 - What You Can Actually Do To Combat EHD: Ecosystem Health and Water Quality with Zach Hass of EHDefense
Q: Can deer survive from EHD if they get it?
Yes, deer can survive EHD, especially if they are healthy, but they are likely to face mortality later during the rutting season.
#352 - What You Can Actually Do To Combat EHD: Ecosystem Health and Water Quality with Zach Hass of EHDefense
Q: How does EHD happen?
EHD is caused by a small midge that bites certain animals like cattle, which can harbor the virus and transmit it to deer.
344: Building A Better Whitetail Property in Iowa with John Mulligan
Q: What do you think you're one of your favorite types of like a habitat and hunting setup on your place for a mature buck?
I usually try to target mature deer that are scent checking does and walking a little more slow, focusing on green food sources like clover early in the season.
344: Building A Better Whitetail Property in Iowa with John Mulligan
Q: Tell me about that and kind of give us a painting or picture of what that looks like.
When I first moved here, the first house I bought had 22 acres, sitting inside 5,000 acres of public. It hunted like a lot more, and we did a lot of dozer work on food plots and transition areas.
