We will look for all sorts of things to fuel our adventures: the new electrolyte drink mix, the fancy sport goo, any and every type of futuristic gear. But mostly the best thing to get us outside is already inside of us in the form of a good old fash... more

I’ve been a great fan of your work. I liked the cougar story and I’m looking forward to hearing more from you. I now hear that you are leaving again. I will miss you! Good luck in your future endeavors. I’m also really enjoying Paddy O. I like that he dives into the psychology of outdoor adventure. I’m a senior, almost life-long Alaskan, who has been outdoor-adventuring my whole life.

Read by a robot. Seriously?
I have been an Outside reader and listener for years. Really disappointed in the use of AI for the recent episode about Yellowstone. Paddy-O opens with “I bet you won’t even notice this is a robot.” Well, I did. I do notice any time AI is used to read a writers work. Drew Magary would have been a great narrator for his own work… the blatant, unregulated use of AI has no place in a podcast dedicated to the outdoors. The infrastructure required to host AI is actively destructive to our natural wor... more
Super disappointed to hear Outside using an AI voice to narrate an article on this podcast. It does not sound human and does a real disservice to the author of the piece.
I was very interested in listening to the recent Yellowstone episode. Why did you have a robot read it instead of a real person? I’m sure there’s someone out there willing to read for 18 minutes. Intern? College student? Volunteer? I didn’t listen, but I appreciate the warning in advance so I can turn it off. :(
