  • I change my mind

I sincerely apologize. I was wrong to say I thought I would prefer an actual human being for the long reads episodes. Go back to text to voice, please. It gave a better delivery, and had I known you weren’t gonna hire a professional voice actor, I wouldn’t have said I wanted a real person. Thanks.

  • Please have people read not AI

Update: They finally listened to the outcry against AI slop narration and have real people reading the weekend long form. Bumping back to 5 stars!

Love Paddy O and how he’s grown over the years into the perfect host for the show. I can’t understand why you’re using AI for the weekend reads. The machine voices are so off putting and the mistakes they are grating. Please get a real person in there to read!

  • New AI narration is not it

I love the podcasts and the interviews with Paddy O. I was excited to get the narrated stories, but super disappointed by the AI voices. So distracting and unnatural. Hire a voice actor and support real people telling real stories

Q: Are gun laws or hunting practices a viable solution?
Experts suggest that Japan's strict gun laws and shrinking hunter base limit traditional predator control, making large-scale removal impractical and highlighting the need for broader societal and landscape redesign.
Our Connection With the Ocean Goes Deeper Than You Think, with Kevin Dawson
Q: How did your fieldwork change your perspective on surfing in the United States?
Seeing a predominantly Black surfing scene in West Africa and the Caribbean contrasted with the relatively sparse Black representation in California, highlighting how segregation erased access and memory, and reshaped my understanding of Black connections to water.
Our Connection With the Ocean Goes Deeper Than You Think, with Kevin Dawson
Q: What sparked your interest in the West African coastal surfing tradition?
I was drawn by the contradiction between my own love of the ocean and the historical record that showed Black communities shaping aquatic culture in Africa, which led me to explore original accounts and experiences on the ground.
LIVE! Proof That World-Feeding Chef José Andrés is an Actual Superhero
Q: How did your path as a chef lead you to humanitarian work with World Central Kitchen?
Andrés describes a lifelong habit of turning curiosity and hospitality into action, linking his culinary career with on-the-ground relief work and the belief that feeding people is fundamental to dignity and resilience.
LIVE! Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien on How the Welsh Countryside Saved His Soul
Q: Can you describe how your relationship to the outdoors influenced the creation of Blue Morpho?
The outdoors provided a space for healing and a source of inspiration that shaped both the visuals and sounds of the project, turning landscape into a recording studio and grounding the musical process.
