  • Inspiring

I’ve listened to this show almost since the beginning and I’m never disappointed. The recent ‘secret’ Sasquatch episode is one of my favorites. It’s a departure from the interview style the show usually follows, but it was really good. Looking forward to another episode like this one!

  • Inspirational

For so long, I have missed the adventure in my life with a family as a single mom and working full-time. This podcast is helping to ignite my adventure gene and to realize that life and any challenge I encounter is also an adventure to be had.

I like that it is not focused on one discipline. It’s motivational too. His other podcast Florida Uncut is a great listen for people interested in Florida.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 1191: Walking Across Australia With Five Wild Camels Revisited with Sophie Matterson
Q: How did you manage training and leading five camels?
She treated the camels as a crew, assigning lead and follower roles, training them over a year, and maintaining consistent order and communication to ensure safety and efficiency.
Ep. 1191: Walking Across Australia With Five Wild Camels Revisited with Sophie Matterson
Q: What motivated you to start walking across Australia with five camels?
She wanted to see more of Australia, explore remote regions, and found that camels offered a perfect vehicle for a long desert crossing, combining practical transport with an immersive travel experience.
Ep. 1189 Freedom! Hang Gliding and Paragliding with Emi Carvalho
Q: How do you see the future of hang gliding with compact wings and faster assembly times?
The future likely involves more compact, easier-to-assemble wings that reduce prep time and expand where you can fly, potentially bringing in new pilots and enabling flights that were previously impractical due to logistics.
Ep. 1189 Freedom! Hang Gliding and Paragliding with Emi Carvalho
Q: What does a typical first flight feel like for someone in your school, especially for nervous first-timers?
Many first-timers feel nervous before takeoff, but once they are seated and begin, the fear quickly gives way to calm as they realize the wing is supporting them and that the experience is safe and exhilarating; tandem flights can help ease new flyers in.
Ep. 1189 Freedom! Hang Gliding and Paragliding with Emi Carvalho
Q: What inspired you to start flying, and why did you choose hang gliding first before adding paragliding?
I was drawn to flying after childhood dreams and realized that hang gliding offered a more direct body position and a sense of connection with nature, but paragliding offered far greater versatility and ease of travel, so I started paragliding as well to fly on trips and travel more freely.
