  • Awesome podcast

Such a great listen! It always inspires and challenges me with energy and optimism. Shelby does such a great job interviewing her guest and I can often hear the smile on her face. I might not tackle any great challenge like her guests but I’m inspired to tackle my own challenges with renewed vision and hope.

  • Inspired by Wild Ideas to Launch Women of the Wild

Wild Ideas Worth Living gave me the courage to finally launch my own wild idea. After years of homeschooling my kids around the world while they chased their surfing dreams, I’m now leading adventure trips for women. Shelby’s stories remind me to keep saying yes to what lights me up. Thank you for what you put out into the world!

  • You are a great interviewer

Shelby is just an awesome interviewer, she knows how to make the interview flow and shows her kindness and empathy, which is so refreshing rather than a list of questions. There is nothing insp... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rowing Solo Across the Atlantic Ocean with Taryn Smith
Q: What was the most challenging day out at sea?
The toughest stretch involved massive waves, relentless wind, and a day when a misaligned course nearly put me in danger, followed by emotional strain and fatigue.
Rowing Solo Across the Atlantic Ocean with Taryn Smith
Q: Can you take me through a typical day on the row from sunup to sundown?
A typical day started before sunrise with rowing, then logging location, checking systems, calling land, making a daily video, and ending with a long evening row before a rest period.
Rowing Solo Across the Atlantic Ocean with Taryn Smith
Q: You grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, is that correct?
Yes, I grew up in Omaha and was curious about how a Nebraska upbringing fed into a life of adventure and fitness.
How The Bucket List Family Travels the World with Garrett Gee
Q: You recently became a professional soccer player at an older age. Can you describe that experience and what you learned from it?
Joining a professional team in Tonga was a bold move that tested my physical limits and pushed me to compete at a high level again. The experience showed my kids the importance of trying something new, supporting one another, and embracing the grind, even when the odds are against you.
How The Bucket List Family Travels the World with Garrett Gee
Q: What led to deciding to settle in Hawaii and how did your kids react?
We wanted a balance between pursuing wild ideas and providing stability for our kids, especially as they entered kindergarten. Hawaii offered a community and a home base that still allowed us to travel, and our kids adapted by embracing the lifestyle, while still keeping education and family time a priority.
