  • when too cute is too much

Some episodes are on point, straight science. Others are these 3 or more twenty-somethings joking around, wanting to hear more death metal. One person says something and they upriously laugh like it's the funnest thing ever (when in fact it is not). It can be grating.

  • Ravens!

I love this show, especially the most recent one about ravens. The music is always on pointe, the puns are perfect and the geography is wide-ranging. I learned so much, often about things I kind of thought I knew about already. Thanks!

No biological mating season for humans, though cultural and social patterns can influence when people have more or less mating activity.
Like a Dirty Rotten Whale
Q: Gonna question you all about smell and dogs. Why do dogs love to roll in things so much?
Dogs roll for multiple reasons: to communicate scent to their pack, to mask their own scent for predation, and because sniffing and rolling in strong smells can be a source of joy and sensory stimulation for them.
A Dry Hot American Summer
Q: What made the 1936 heat wave so transformative for the United States?
It exposed vulnerabilities in health care, housing, and infrastructure, shifted public attitudes toward technology like air conditioning, and spurred changes in fashion and daily behavior, creating a lasting awareness of climate risks.
The Dead Bird Rabbit Hole
Q: What practical solutions have proven most effective?
Small, repeatable interventions like bird-safe dots or films on windows, and turning off lights at night, have significantly reduced collisions in places like the Jacob Javits Center, demonstrating that targeted architectural changes yield tangible results.
