you seriously need to talk for 20+ minutes describing what you're going to talk about? not to mention continuously and explicitly supporting the current administration while also crying about what they're doing and telling us all we need to fix it. well maybe you should acknowledge your vote did this... heard no mention of the feds taking lives of american citizens while simultaneously violating their 2nd amendment rights ... the absurd number of ads and now advertising their own products with... more

  • Mixed feelings.

I like Mark, and the episodes he does with Tony and Dan just chatting or just telling hunting stories are great. The interview episode not so much, the guests are usually just about as riveting as watching paint dry. I understand that they’re sharing good information but they make Ben Stein in Farris Bullers Day off seem charismatic. The foundation episode are always 5 star. Tony is great.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 1020: The Future of Wild Turkeys and Turkey Hunting with Dr. Mike Chamberlain
Q: If you could redesign regulations in a declining state, what would be the priority?
Open seasons timing around nesting or peak laying to minimize breeding disruption, plus cautious bag limits to reduce early-season removals, while recognizing changes take time to implement and evaluate.
Ep. 1020: The Future of Wild Turkeys and Turkey Hunting with Dr. Mike Chamberlain
Q: What does the future of turkeys look like across America given current trends?
The future is likely to feature more conservative, science-informed regulations, ongoing habitat and predation management at larger scales, and continued reliance on private land stewardship, with pockets of decline in local populations but potential regional improvements where habitat and predator management align.
Ep. 1010: The Power of Prairie for Whitetails and Beyond with Kent Boucher and Nicolas Lirio
Q: How should a backyard prairie be approached to maximize success?
Start with small, manageable patches, use plugs for tiny areas, ensure vegetation is cleared before seeding, plant shallow, select appropriate seed mixes with a mix of grasses and forbs, and plan for ongoing maintenance and possible burns or grazing to maintain diversity.
Ep. 1010: The Power of Prairie for Whitetails and Beyond with Kent Boucher and Nicolas Lirio
Q: What are the common stumbling blocks when establishing native prairie on a small scale?
Common issues include underestimating prep work (double killing/removing past cover), planting too deep, neglecting seed dormancy requirements, and not planning maintenance or burn regimes; patience and proper timing (e.g., November dormancy, shallow seeding) are crucial.
Ep. 1018: What Habitat Work REALLY Makes a Difference for Whitetails?
Q: All right, Thomas, welcome to Wired To Hunt. How's it going?
Thomas is doing well; the discussion moves into spring habitat planning and prioritizing projects that actually move the needle for next season and beyond.
