  • Excellent

Finally a writer is talking about WHY. Why did the prosecutors in Oakland County Michigan avoid making arrests in the Oakland County Child Murder cases? Because the killer was part of an enormously prominent Big Three executive. So what, you may ask? Well, the main prosecutor in the OCCK case wanted to become a judge, a senator, a president. And he needed huge campaign contributions, one source of which was the dad of the killer. Thank you, Nina, for this very significant interview.

  • You don’t have to be from Michigan…

… To enjoy this podcast. Stories are interesting. I’ve never heard 95% of them before. They are narrated with compassion for the victims and respect for all the characters. This is my new favorite podcast!

  • Quote

The podcaster doesn’t realise the use of the word quote is used in the wrong context, used far too often, and spoils the documentary. Can’t listen to this.

Author Interview - Guarded by Jackals
Q: What inspired you to write the book, Guarded by Jackals?
The author was inspired by the impact of the Oakland County child killings on their childhood and the unfair treatment of victims' families by the legal system, particularly illustrated through Cathy King's experiences with the prosecutor's office.
Missing - Karla Rodriguez - a special episode from Sins & Survivors
Q: What efforts have been made to find her?
Police initiated immediate search efforts, public awareness campaigns, and have linked her case to potential suspects over the years.
Missing - Karla Rodriguez - a special episode from Sins & Survivors

Karla disappeared on October 20, 1999, and despite extensive search efforts, no trace of her has been found.
Bonus Episode - True Crime Live Panel
Q: Which case have you worked on that surprised you the most while you were doing it?
I covered a little known missing persons case from 1985, and after I covered it, I ended up getting a call from the Oakland County Sheriff saying they were looking to reopen it and needed all the files I had.
Bonus Episode - True Crime Live Panel
Q: Is there ever a case out there that you just will not touch? What is your like no go case?
There are definitely cases that are too widely discussed or involve high emotional stakes that can make them uncomfortable to cover, like ones involving very traumatic events or well-known figures.
