  • Topic for episode

I would like to know from the xtreme Ag group, what services do you expect from your agronomist? Or what is the most important contribution your agronomist gives to each of your operations? Pest management, fertility recommendations, organizing on farm test plots, seed selection, handling yield maps, etc.? I really enjoy this podcast!!!

  • Poor host

The host likes to discredit younger individuals in the industry. In addition, the host acts as if he’s seen it all (a bad way to look at AG). If it wasn’t for some guest I would not listen. A new host would change this podcast for the best.

Talking Points

Farming Podcast | Regenerative Farming's 3rd Iteration | XtremeAg
Q: Mr. Bormann, do you feel like we are at phase 3 now in regenerative farming and is this scalable to larger farms?
Yes, it's scalable. The field-day attendees showed that these practices can work at larger scales and that the economics can improve, which helps overcome fear about adopting reduced tillage and nutrient strategies.
Farming Podcast | R-Stage Fertility for Higher Yields | XtremeAg
Q: Should I perform a SAP analysis before applying R-stage fertility?
SAP analysis helps tailor the program, but even if you don't, starting with R-stage applications and then validating with SAP data in the following year is a workable path; trials and measurements help justify adjustments going forward.
Farming Podcast | R-Stage Fertility for Higher Yields | XtremeAg
Q: What is the most important money to preserve for R-stage fertility?
Keep some fertilizer budget back for the R-stage, because this is when you can achieve the biggest yield impact and get better return on your investment compared to earlier stages.
Farming Podcast | Are You Ready for the 45Z Credit? | XtremeAg
Q: What should farmers do now to prepare?
Farmers should educate themselves using ARVA's calculator, document regenerative practices, consider data partnerships through channel partners, and begin capturing data and planning for cover crops, reduced tillage, and other CI-lowering practices.
Farming Podcast | Are You Ready for the 45Z Credit? | XtremeAg
Q: How is the credit value realized and who benefits?
Credit can be used directly against taxes by the plant or sold as a marketable instrument to large corporations; the farmer benefits from higher value for lower CI scores when plants procure feedstock, with channel partners aiding data collection and verification.
