  • I look forward to it each day!

This show is great! I find the outlook on national policy and politics from a rural perspective to be very informative and valuable. The guests are terrific. Getting the insight of policymakers and industry leaders on such such important, and current, issues each day is something I look forward to.

Davis is embarrassing for ag, give him a month off and see what the results are.

  • Not a fan of Davis

Davis should host no shows. He’s a hype man. He has poor questions for guest on the program. After the market report I turn it off. When Chip is hosting there’s good information. The show spends a to much time tongue wagging for politicians, instead of asking uncomfortable questions.

I realize Steffes group invested a lot with you guys but I can’t listen to machinery Pete it’s a terrible segment.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AgriTalk-August 07, 2026 PM
Q: What is the likely impact of the upcoming WASDE on old crop stocks?
Old crop exports are higher than USDA projections, so the WASDE is expected to show a tighter old-crop stock situation, potentially lifting prices if the increase is significant and credible.
AgriTalk-August 04, 2026 PM
Q: How are you viewing the current weather impact versus the crop ratings?
Jim explains that weather relief in some pockets isn't enough to offset the pressure from old crop supplies and the lower ratings, while yields still depend on how the late season rains play out; traders are weighing whether trendline yields are achievable.
AgriTalk-August 10, 2026 PM
Q: What is Mike Castle most focused on for the WASDE preview?
He emphasizes the world balance sheet pressures, particularly European wheat production, export logistics from the Black Sea, and the demand side for soybeans driven by China, with corn unlikely to show big changes unless acreage shifts occur.
AgriTalk-July 30, 2026 PM
Q: What's your best guess of when everything is said and done with current heat and export pressures, and where could prices settle in the near term?
Brad Johnson notes that while losses may be significant in some regions, the overall impact on long-term cattle profitability will depend on management responses and the duration of the heat event; for grains, yields and weather ahead of the August report will largely drive a renewed rally or pullback, with prices likely fluctuating around key support levels until more clarity emerges.
AgriTalk-July 20, 2026 PM
Q: Are we seeing the majority of the war premium priced in for grains, or could there be more upside tied to geopolitical developments?
Hueber suggests that while some risk premium remains due to geopolitical tensions, many traders are watching for additional developments in the Black Sea and related export routes to determine if further upside is warranted.
