  • I look forward to it each day!

This show is great! I find the outlook on national policy and politics from a rural perspective to be very informative and valuable. The guests are terrific. Getting the insight of policymakers and industry leaders on such such important, and current, issues each day is something I look forward to.

  • Give Davis a month off

Davis is embarrassing for ag, give him a month off and see what the results are.

  • Not a fan of Davis

Davis should host no shows. He’s a hype man. He has poor questions for guest on the program. After the market report I turn it off. When Chip is hosting there’s good information. The show spends a to much time tongue wagging for politicians, instead of asking uncomfortable questions.

I realize Steffes group invested a lot with you guys but I can’t listen to machinery Pete it’s a terrible segment.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AgriTalk-August 19, 2026 PM
Q: What should growers focus on if they haven't marketed much of their new crop yet?
Set realistic targets based on cost of production, place offers at profitable levels, and consider puts as a backstop to manage risk if yields fall short, while planning to act as price opportunities emerge.
AgriTalk-August 17, 2026 PM
Q: Chip Flory, how did the western leg wrap up and what does that imply for markets?
Chip highlighted persistent moisture in the western leg, issues with pollination in some ND/NE areas, and the potential for delayed harvest in muddy conditions, with markets watching how these tour results compare to USDA estimates.
AgriTalk-August 17, 2026 PM
Q: Lane Akre, what did you see on day one of the eastern leg crop tour?
Lane described a bifurcated corn crop with some fields looking very good and others immature, along with strong bean pod counts and moisture that should support finish, but noted variability across counties and the importance of upcoming weather.
AgriTalk-August 07, 2026 PM
Q: What is the likely impact of the upcoming WASDE on old crop stocks?
Old crop exports are higher than USDA projections, so the WASDE is expected to show a tighter old-crop stock situation, potentially lifting prices if the increase is significant and credible.
AgriTalk-August 04, 2026 PM
Q: How are you viewing the current weather impact versus the crop ratings?
Jim explains that weather relief in some pockets isn't enough to offset the pressure from old crop supplies and the lower ratings, while yields still depend on how the late season rains play out; traders are weighing whether trendline yields are achievable.
